Lucas Acosta
Founder and Principal
Lucas Acosta is a communications strategist, media operator, and trusted advisor with more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of politics, media, and entertainment. He has navigated some of the most high-stakes communications environments in American public life, bringing a rare combination of strategic instinct, operational precision, and relationships built at every level of the media landscape.
As Director of Broadcast Media at the White House, Lucas designed and executed the broadcast media strategy for the Biden Administration, working across the full architecture of American media from network morning shows to regional radio. He provided media training and interview preparation for Cabinet Secretaries and senior White House staff, managing sensitive information at the highest levels of government. His work extended well beyond Washington: he traveled internationally on behalf of the administration, including to the NATO summit in Lithuania, where he coordinated interviews with heads of state and foreign leaders, among them the Swedish Prime Minister, to help shape the global narrative around the administration's foreign policy achievements.
Before the White House, Lucas built one of the most versatile track records in Democratic communications. At the Democratic National Committee, he served in two separate stints under two chairs — as Director of Broadcast Media under Chair Tom Perez, and as Senior Spokesperson and Coalitions Director under Chair Jaime Harrison — cultivating deep relationships with cable anchors, network producers, and political directors nationwide. At the Human Rights Campaign, he served as Deputy Communications Director for Politics, leading communications across the organization's 2020 presidential campaign engagement and federal advocacy portfolio including leading the efforts surrounding the nation’s first nationally televised presidential town hall focused on LGBTQ issues. Earlier, as National Radio Broadcast Manager for Hillary for America, he personally managed radio booking for Secretary Clinton and Senator Kaine, executing a national strategy that produced thousands of interviews across the country.
Lucas began his career in New York City government, serving as Communications and Legislative Director for City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, where he led the Council's early media efforts around the regulation of ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft, one of the defining local policy fights of that era.
Most recently, Lucas served as Senior Manager of Media Relations at Disney Entertainment Television, where he brought his background in high-pressure communications environments to one of the most prominent names in global media and entertainment.
A connector by instinct and a strategist by training, Lucas brings to every engagement the credibility of someone who has operated at the table, not just advised from outside it. Originally from Inwood in New York City, Lucas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religious Ethics from Middlebury College. He is currently based in Los Angeles.
